A TigerLight D.A.D.®2.
I know this might not be the answer you are looking for, but part of the problem is that most things we might suggest, like baseball bats and meat cleavers probably won’t be where you can access them in the situation. Also, unless you are skilled in their use, they are also fairly likely to be taken away from you and used on you.
A guy just wanting to rob you, might change his mind if you come at him with lethal force. So, it still depends on how powerful you are and how skilled you are in its use, regardless of what it is.
Personally, I might go with a baseball bat, if I did not have a D.A.D.®. Remember the scene on Signs, “Merrill, swing away.”
However, I would ten times rather have a D.A.D.®, which I do, one sitting on my wife’s bed stand and one on mine. Of course it’s in hand if we are out and about and exposed to potential attack, like on my mountain biking trip today. It was on my hand, in firing position, even while going over jumps.
During the day, if we are home, we tend to reposition them around the house for easy access should home invaders show up during the day. It’s not a paranoid thing. We aren’t nervous or anxious about it. It’s just a mindset that allows us to have MORE peace-of-mind in virtually any situation we are in.
For so many really good reasons, including the fact that TigerLights have the highest documented “stop rate” or effectiveness of any non-lethal device, the D.A.D.® 2 is the ultimate choice for overall, day-to-day personal protection.
As I’ve said many times before, a gun in the right hands and in the right situation, might be best for those situations, but they are 1 out of 101 use of force situations. Everyone who has a gun, or doesn’t have a gun, should have a D.A.D.®.
