Start Up Guide

Initial Steps

1. Install the latest App from the Play Store.

2. The app prompts you for access to Location Services; accepting will turn on your Bluetooth (leave Bluetooth on while using the app; the D.A.D. device communicates with your phone via Bluetooth).

3. If you do not have a D.A.D. user account create one as prompted by the app. Create a single account with the phone number of the phone you are using and with a single email account, where you wish to be contacted.

4. Create a set of contacts; people you wish to get your alerts.

5. Set up a PIN for your I’m OK message in case you set off an alert unintentionally and don’t want others worrying about you.

6. Turn on Test Alerts and use the “Send Danger Alert” software input to check proper connection to the server. A blue message will be sent to your app. Remember to turn off Test Mode when done.

7. Turn on Test Alerts again and set off the D.A.D.® 2 unit by depressing the spray canister trigger partially for 100 msec. (about a quarter of a second).

8. You should receive another Test Alert (Blue) on the Alerts page of the app as above.

9. Congratulations! You are ready to send alerts to your contacts and enjoy a safer day.

Trouble Shooting
No Alert. Make sure you have an Internet connection.
No Test Alert. Make sure your Bluetooth connection is active.
No Test Alert after several attempts. Cycle Bluetooth on/off on iPhone.

Check Bluetooth Settings for either:

 

No PIN reset email make sure your email address is correct.

8. Repeat the number 6 twice so that the D.A.D.®2 unit will synch up with your phone.

9. You should receive another Test Alert (Blue) on the Alerts page of the app as above. If an alert is not sent, please contact customer support immediately at support@tigerlight.net or call 435-671-3331.

10. Congratulations! You are ready to send alerts to your contacts and enjoy a safer day.

Trouble Shooting
No Alert. Make sure you have an Internet connection.
No Test Alert. Make sure your Bluetooth connection is active.
No Test Alert after several attempts. Cycle Bluetooth on/off on iPhone.
No PIN reset email. Make sure your email address is correct.
Long Alert Delay. The app qualifies your location; this may take up to 2 minutes.
